Employment Contract: 18 Months
Work Week: 5 Days (Monday to Friday, 40 hrs/week)
Work Hours: 08:30 AM – 05:15 PM
Project Overview
WWF-Pakistan, in collaboration with Artistic Milliners, is implementing a Community-Based Project in Karachi to promote water stewardship practices. This initiative involves working closely with communities to develop and implement sustainable water management solutions, including innovative interventions like ablution water reuse systems and floating wetlands.
Key Responsibilities
The Sr. Project Officer will play a critical role in the technical execution of the project, ensuring sustainability and effectiveness of interventions.
Feasibility and Design
Conduct feasibility assessments of project sites for specific interventions.
Design and oversee water-related solutions, including ablution water reuse systems, floating wetlands, and water treatment plants.
Assess water replenishment potential based on operating hours, community size, and tank capacity.
Construction and Supervision
Develop ToRs, BoQs, and detailed drawings for construction and installation.
Supervise the construction of ablution water reuse systems and drinking water filtration plants.
Ensure project delivery aligns with organizational guidelines and timelines.
Procurement and Documentation
Procure field materials while adhering to WWF-Pakistan’s procurement policies.
Document contracts, expenses, and invoices for internal project verification.
Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting
Arrange stakeholder consultations to identify relevant project needs.
Facilitate the development of feasibility and progress reports.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress.
Compliance
Ensure compliance with WWF-Pakistan’s internal audit policies and organizational standards.
Selection Criteria
Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or Hydrology.
Experience: 3–5 years in water sector or development projects; expertise in designing interventions is a plus.
Skills and Competencies
Proficiency in data collection, environmental engineering, and water-related calculations.
Excellent command of English and Urdu (reading, writing, and speaking).
Strong communication, advocacy, and teamwork skills.
Understanding of gender and social issues in Pakistan.
